What Do Engineering Technologists Do?

Education and training. A two-year degree in engineering technology will qualify you to work as an engineering technician. They do some of the same things as engineers, but their work is usually more application-oriented. Like engineers, engineering technicians need a background in math and science, though their coursework is likely to be more limited and focused on practical applications. Technicians typically do not go on to graduate school or transition into management and other broader based responsibilities.
